Trial Lesson Vouchers make great gifts for Family and Friends and can be personalised for all occasions. We provide a text box for your personal message too!
Trial Lessons
Your instructor will talk you through the effects of the aircraft’s controls and what you will be doing during the flight. You will then observe a ‘walk–round’ where you will see the main control surfaces of the aircraft.
Your instructor will take off and demonstrate some basic manoeuvres and then it’s your turn, and you can experience the exhilaration of flying for yourself. There will never be anything to compare with your first flight as you soar skywards to view the East Anglian Countryside from 2000 feet. No computer game or simulator comes close to the experience of taking control and the sensation of piloting the aircraft whilst looking down on the earth is a memory that will stay with you forever. Not a game - the real thing! We will try to take you over places of personal interest where possible. Depending on the duration chosen, you will fly over local landmarks and sites, some of the most popular being Newmarket Town and Racecourse, Ely Cathedral and Grafham Water. On return to Cambridge you will see such historic sites as Kings College and the River Cam.

In certain circumstances Vouchers may be extended at the discretion of M-ASF, there will be an extra charge for this. Vouchers are not refundable but are transferrable providing you inform us of the change of details and the original Voucher is returned to us.
Timing and Availability
Your flight is timed from when the aircraft leaves its stand until it returns. There is however a small amount of paperwork and a short film to watch before going out to the aircraft. In view of this we require that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time. Please note that all times are dependent on weather conditions and operational requirements of Cambridge City Airport. Preference is given for commercial arrivals, departures and fuelling so although you arrive on time there may well be a delay before your actual flight. The airport is open seven days a week from 0900 to 1800 hrs and Trial Flying Lessons must take-off and land during daylight hours
Headsets, Hi-Viz jackets and ear-defenders where required will be supplied by the school. Casual clothing is advised and we recommend that ladies wear trousers and flat shoes.
(Not sandals or flip-flops!)

During Your Trial Flight
Mid-Anglia School of Flying (formerly Ipswich School of Flying) moved to Cambridge in December
1996 following the closure of Ipswich Airport. The School was formed in 1969, although it’s roots can be traced back as far as 1938 and the early days of aviation at Ipswich. Cambridge City Airport is an ideal location for flight training with three runways and excellent Air Traffic Control and approach services befitting it’s status as a modern commercial airport.
