The NPPL Course

The National Private Pilots Licence was brought in to service on 30th July 2002 and is a more economical option to the JAR PPL.
The requirements for gaining an NPPL are reduced, but so too are the privileges.
The requirements for gaining the NPPL are:
 22 hours dual instruction.
10 hours solo flying (to include 4 hours cross country navigation).
1 hour Navigation Skill Test
1 hour General Skill Test.
7 written exams and 1 radio practical exam as per PPL.

 

NPPL holders cannot fly outside of UK airspace, however
the option to upgrade to a JAR PPL is available.
The requirements to upgrade are:
Complete 45 hours flight time, including 20 hours dual instruction and 10 hours solo flying which must include 5 hours navigation.
